I grew up classically trained in ballet, jazz, and tap, so movement has always been part of my life. In college I joined a pole dance & fitness studio, where my love for dance lived on. With this movement background, I gained a deep understanding of lines, angles, and peak movements.
Polers, movers, groovers dancers, and everyone in between. I work with individuals as well as groups & studios.
I also shoot portraits & weddings.
Please have a good idea of the movements and poses you’d like to use as inspiration for your own shoot. You’re welcome to email them to me at gracitudephotography@gmail.com.
Pole dancers: know if you are better off on spin pole or static pole for the shoot. Do you want to hold a pose? Or do you want to freestyle into certain moves? As you know, some moves are easier on spin, and vice versa. Stick with moves already in your repertoire; plus, sometimes the simple moves turn out even better! PS – no slippery lotion 24 hours before the shoot 🙂
If you want to use props, or do a specifically styled shoot, please prepare and let me know.
All other Movers & Groovers: have an idea of poses, jumps, leaps, etc., that you would like to use. Send them over my way, so I know what you have in mind. However, if you book a longer shoot, we have the freedom and ability to freestyle and explore a little bit more.
Everyone: before your photo session, make sure you’re warm and show up on time. For the days leading up to the shoot, make sure to eat clean and hydrate with plenty of water. Don’t go out the night before. You want to feel your best when we are shooting!
Depending on location, we can discuss outfit options that will work well for that specific place. But as a general rule of thumb, make sure you are comfortable in what you wear, and that it is flattering on your body as well.
Dissatisfaction in the photos are often a result in clothing choice not flattering the chosen movements or poses!
Doing hair and makeup is highly encouraged. Heavier makeup than your usual day-to-day look is encouraged. False eyelashes also encouraged 🙂
Hair should be styled according to your shoot style.
Pole dancers should bring pole grip & sweat towel. Also, water is important, too.
Everyone else: water & anything else you need to “prep” you.
Anywhere, really! I am based in Denver, so if you have a specific location you’d like to shoot at, you would be responsible for getting any required permits. If you are not sure of where you’d like to shoot, I can suggest a few places.
For locations greater than 13 miles (one way) away from Denver, Colorado, a travel fee will be included in the shoot.
Also, I often visit the Chicagland as well. Any other locations: please contact me!
Yes! Studio owners, or students of the studio may reach out and collaborate a studio rental. If you are a student, you may discuss with the decision maker what a studio rental will cost.
You are to feel confident during your shoot and perform to the best of your abilities. If that means bringing a parent, coach, or friend – you are welcome to bring one guest.
If you have a pole stage or choose to rent one from an outside source, you are welcome to bring it and set it up. If you would like to use my stainless steel Lupit Pole Stage, an extra set-up and material cost will be charged.
If you refer a friend, you will receive $50 towards your next photo session, and your referral will also receive $50 towards his/her photo session.
If you want to shoot at a dance studio and get multiple people in on the same day, we can work out a discount that works for that as well!
Please email gracitudephotography@gmail.com or visit the contact page.
Include your contact information, date you’d like to book, and from there I will send you over a photo contract. Any other questions, of course, will be answered in the mean time.
While your photographer will retain ownership to the photos, you own the rights to use the photos for your website, marketing, social media, etc. This also means you do not have permission to sell or claim these photos as your own. Before working together, we will find an agreement for usage rights that works for all parties involved.
